Where Susan Works

"We have to go to the Bad Place," we would tell Abby when we left the Lodge. And it is bad compared to staying at the Lodge, but if the San Jose Mercury News were really a horrible place to work, Susan wouldn't hang around. Some good things about the Bad Place:
º Susan knows some good people there.
º Sometimes she gets new toys.
º She doesn't have to spend a lot of money on clothes.
º She has instant access to a ton of stuff that comes over the wires, stories and pictures.
º When things get too rotten, she can go back to the photo library and look at pictures of high school football games from the 1940s.
